Data Center transformation is a word that raises goosebumps in some camps and chills of horror in others. What is the reality behind the hype?

CEOs and CIOs are looking for ways to reduce costs while improving their competitive posture. Offerings of data center modernization, migration, virtualization or moving to the cloud provide tantalizing promises. Vendors offer to revitalize your data center, reduce the physical footprint, improve CapEx and OpEx alignment, reduce TCO 15% to 40% and even reduce your carbon footprint. Learn how to separate promises and pitfalls from this talk.

This presentation will help you understand that there is a tremendous difference between data center improvements and simple space expansions. I’ll discuss the five key steps to follow for project success. I’ll describe the critical success factors to guarantee true hard-dollar savings. I’ll show you how to choose standards-based solutions that gracefully evolve to meet emerging scalability and performance needs and provide a solid foundation for the future.

My experience is gleaned from being on both sides. I’ve been a “victim” of a data center transformation but currently work in a strategic planning role with my clients.

This talk can be given as a 30 minute, 60 minute, or 90 minute presentation. It is best suited for lunch or dinner meetings, though it can be tailored to a breakfast meeting.
